Lawn and garden care in Morayfield.

Jackfruit Home and Garden looks after lawns, gardens and outdoor spaces across Morayfield – a suburb that's really two different places stitched together: a busy retail and commercial strip along Morayfield Road, and a much quieter, larger-block area to the south-west.

Mowing, hedging, garden bed design, turf and yard tidy-ups, handled by a team that treats those two halves differently, because they need it.

Local knowledge

Why local knowledge actually matters here

Morayfield splits pretty cleanly in two, and it's worth knowing which half your place sits in before planning any garden work. The northern and central parts of the suburb are dense and built-up, centred on Morayfield Road, with smaller blocks packed in close to the shops, train station and main commercial strip.

Head south-west and it's a different suburb altogether – larger rural-residential blocks, natural watercourses, and land backing onto bushland and national park. A mowing or garden plan that works well on a tight, central block doesn't scale sensibly to five times the ground, and vice versa – route timing, equipment and even how a garden bed gets laid out should look different depending on which side of the suburb you're on.

The other thing worth knowing is water. The Caboolture River's waterway corridor runs along the northern edge of Morayfield, and parts of the suburb saw pretty bad flooding back in the 2010–11 Queensland floods.

If your property is anywhere near that corridor, it's worth factoring drainage into any garden bed excavation or retaining wall work rather than assuming the ground will behave the same as it does further from the water – council has even run dedicated waterway maintenance work in that area, which gives you a sense of how seriously the drainage there needs to be taken.

Around the suburb

Morayfield, as we actually know it

Morayfield has become the retail and entertainment hub for the northern side of Moreton Bay, and it's easy to see why once you're there. The Morayfield Shopping Centre anchors a genuinely growing dining scene – new restaurants seem to open every few months, and if you're after takeaway for a night on the couch, there's not much you can't get locally. Limelight Cinemas, a seven-screen complex right in the shopping centre, is a regular drawcard for the area too.

For anyone after something a bit more active, Morayfield Sport and Events Centre runs casual sessions and social competitions across basketball, volleyball, badminton and pickleball – pickleball in particular has taken off here, with a proper local club now running regular sessions and coaching, and the centre hosting the Queensland Pickleball Championships in 2025. And Brodie's Park is good for a walk, a dog run or the kids' playground.

For anything the garden actually needs, Gardenscapes Landscape Centre on Oakey Flat Road is the standout local option – we love wandering through their site checking out the new arrivals of pavers, and they have ten acres of the actual bulk materials (soil, mulch, stones) rather than a hardware aisle's worth. When you do need a hardware aisle, Bunnings Morayfield, on the corner of Morayfield and Walker Roads, is the easy stop for anything smaller or last-minute.
