Lawn and garden care in Burpengary.

Jackfruit Home & Garden looks after lawns, gardens and outdoor spaces across Burpengary and Burpengary East – two suburbs that share a name and a boundary but not much else in terms of what a garden here actually needs.

Mowing, hedging, garden bed design, turf and yard tidy-ups, handled by a team that knows the difference.

Local knowledge

Why local knowledge actually matters here

Burpengary homes with the Glass House Mountains in the distance

Burpengary and Burpengary East were one suburb until 2010, when Burpengary East was gazetted separately – and the split makes sense once you're standing in a garden on either side of it.

Burpengary itself sits on flat coastal plain, with Burpengary Creek running through it, and a nice mix of established homes from the early 1980s alongside newer quarter-acre estate releases. Block sizes here trend large – the local average sits around an acre – so route timing and equipment choice matter more than they would on a standard suburban block.

Burpengary East is a different proposition again, and genuinely mixed. Its eastern edge borders Deception Bay via the Caboolture River, and while parts of that river frontage remain marshland, grazing land or conservation park, a significant stretch has also been actively developed over the past several years as the North Harbour estate has grown along nine kilometres of river frontage.

In practice, that means ground conditions vary a lot from block to block near that edge – some sit on recently developed, engineered land, others back onto low-lying, wetter ground – so it's worth having a proper look at any specific property near the river rather than assuming either way. Away from the water, Burpengary East mixes smaller suburban blocks with larger rural-residential ones, adding to the variation.

Around the suburb

Burpengary and Burpengary East, as we actually know them

Burpengary's town centre is pretty old by Moreton Bay standards – the railway station opened in 1888, and the suburb was originally a truck stop on the old North Coast Road before that road became the Bruce Highway.

For anything the garden itself needs, Nuway Landscape Supplies on Commerce Place stocks the actual bulk materials – soil, pavers, retaining wall stone – rather than just a hardware aisle's worth. For a coffee or a bite before or after a job, Basil & Vine in Burpengary Plaza is a genuine local favourite, and the Burpengary Tavern (one of the older pubs in the region) is good for a pint after work.

Over in Burpengary East, North Harbour is the estate that's driven a lot of the suburb's recent growth, with a proposed (not yet built) marina planned as part of its longer-term masterplan. Ruby Tuesday Cafe on Buckley Road has quickly become a popular local spot since opening too – in fact, if you're trying to track Cat down for a client catch-up, there's a fair chance you'll find her at a table there.
